Are Holiday Mini Sessions Worth It?

Holiday mini sessions are one of my favorite ways to make professional photography a little more accessible. A few times a year, photographers offer shorter sessions at a lower price than their traditional packages, and I think they're such a great opportunity to take advantage of!

As a Missouri and Oklahoma wedding and family photographer, my full sessions are designed to be a more personalized, all-inclusive experience. We have time to slow down, explore different locations, and document all the little moments in between. But I also know that not everyone has the time or budget for that kind of session every year.

That's where mini sessions come in!

Why Should You Book Holiday Mini Sessions?

Mini sessions give you the opportunity to work with a photographer whose work you love at a smaller investment. They're typically shorter, more structured, and offered on select dates, which allows photographers to offer them at a lower price.

And just because they're shorter doesn't mean your photos have to feel stiff or overly posed. I still love bringing my documentary-style approach into family sessions, capturing natural interactions, genuine smiles, and the little moments that make your family yours.

I also love incorporating film photography into my work. There's something about the nostalgic, timeless feeling of film that makes everyday memories feel even more special.

If you've been wanting updated family photos, pictures for your Christmas cards, or simply a few beautiful photographs of this season of life, holiday mini sessions can be the perfect fit.

Of course, there's still so much value in booking a full session. Having more time together allows us to create a gallery with greater variety and tell more of your story. But if you've had your eye on a higher-end photographer and haven't been able to justify the full investment, waiting for their mini session dates can be such a good option.

As A Toler Photo, I photograph weddings, couples, and families throughout Missouri, Oklahoma, and the Midwest. Whether it's a full session or a quick holiday mini, my goal is always the same: photographs that feel natural, honest, and true to you.

If you've been thinking about booking family photos, keep an eye out for my next round of mini sessions. They're a sweet way to document this season without committing to a full photography experience!
